Headaches

Defined

Pain that is felt in the head in various locations with various intensities and frequencies.

Headaches can be classified as muscle tension, migraines and sinus pressure. They can be a result of cervical dysfunction, TMJ dysfunction, posture, and work strain. Headaches require a thorough evaluation to determine the source and perpetuating factors. Physical therapy is most effective with muscle tension headaches.

Symptoms may include:

  1. Sharp or dull pain on one or both sides of the head.
  2. Visual changes.
  3. Dizziness or nausea.
