We believe that the true goal of physical therapy involves restoration of function through neuromuscular re-education and specialized manual techniques to restore movement, balance and quality of life. We go a step further and teach people how to keep their bodies stronger and healthier. We do this by teaching proper body mechanics and developing personalized exercises that will help prevent re-injury.

  • Visceral Manipulation (Click Here)

Visceral Manipulation is based on the specific use of soft manual forces to encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera and their connective tissues. These gentle manipulations can potentially improve the functioning of the individual organs, the systems the organs function with and the structural integrity of the entire body.

Based on your symptoms and diagnosis, our therapists will assess your specific needs and progress with an evaluation designed to gather information to help you reach your goals. This may include an internal pelvic examination, which is performed in private rooms and only with your full agreement and understanding. We assess each individual to determine the health and function of their neuromuscular system as it relates to their pelvic health. We often find muscles to be tight, stiff and/or tender (hypertonic) or soft, weak and lacking effective tone (hypotonic). These problems can lead to issues such as Incontinence (poor control of urine and/or stool), pelvic pain, constipation, and painful intercourse. Our goal is to improve the health and function of these muscles and the nerves supplying them. We also assess each patient to determine how the adjacent structures are affecting the pelvis, for example Coccyx Pain, Low Back Pain or Hip Pain can cause changes in function and movement patterns that affect muscle functions.
  • Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy utilizes a gentle approach to assessing and correcting restrictions found in the cranium and along the dural tube within the spinal canal. It has a calming affect on the nervous system which promotes improvement in the function of the Temporomandibular joints (TMJ) and reduction in Headaches and Neck Pain.
